Nyckelharpa | Violin | Hardingfele | Säckpipa & Spelpipa

Violin has always been one of the most popular instruments used in folk music. It has survived the birth (and successive onslaught) of accordion to make a raging comeback. Fiddles have also taken many shapes and forms, depending on the resources available to the musician.

In my imagination, the folk musician plays fiddle, and it is always within arms' reach. However, that's more stereotype than fact. I need not look farther than myself to disprove that. But it's still a romantic thought.
