Nyckelharpa | Violin | Hardingfele | Säckpipa & Spelpipa

Built in Tobo, Sweden (2000) by Esbjörn Hogmark & Anna Abraham

Nyckelharpa is the Swedish national instrument. Its origins reach as far back as the 1100's, when it was often depicted as the angel's instrument. The nyckelharpa tradition is strongest in the province of Uppland, where important figures like Eric Sahlström revolutionized both the building and music of this instrument.
